What is this tool?

Bigger packages aren't always the better deal. This tool normalizes two products' size and price to a per-unit cost — converting between compatible units (like oz and g) when needed — so you can see which is cheaper per unit and by what percentage. Weight, volume, and count-based products (each is only compared against the same kind) are supported; incompatible kinds (e.g. weight vs. volume) show a clear error instead of a nonsensical result.

How to use it

  1. Enter each product's size, unit, and price.
  2. Use compatible unit types for both products (both weight, both volume, or both count).
  3. Compare the per-unit price and which product is cheaper.
