A size class spans very different builds — a lean, athletic dog can be healthy below this range and a stocky one above it. Trend and body condition matter more than the number.

What is this tool?

Estimates a healthy weight range from a generic size class (toy through giant) and age. Adult ranges are broad multi-source generalizations rather than any registry's breed standard, and puppy estimates scale the adult range by typical growth curves — small breeds reach adult weight around 9–12 months while giant breeds keep growing to 18–24 months. Because builds vary enormously within a size class, treat the range as context for a conversation with your vet, whose body-condition scoring is far more meaningful.

How to use it

  1. Pick the size class that matches your dog's expected adult size.
  2. Enter your dog's age in months or years.
  3. Read the estimated healthy range in kg and lb, plus growth stage for puppies.
