What is this tool?

Shifts a starting musical key by a chosen number of semitones up or down, and can transpose a typed chord progression in the same move. Chord qualities (m, maj7, sus4, and so on) stay attached; only roots and slash-bass notes move. Progressions are generic theory examples you type yourself — this tool does not use or reproduce any copyrighted song. Choose sharp or flat spelling for the output.

How to use it

  1. Pick the starting key, how many semitones to shift, and up or down.
  2. Read the resulting key.
  3. Optionally paste a chord progression to transpose it, then copy the result.
