Dew Point Calculator

Dew point, comfort level, and optional condensation-risk check.

Temperature unit

Dew point

50.5°F

Comfort level: Comfortable

Comfort bands are a commonly used informal scale, not an official NWS standard. This is an informational estimate using a standard meteorological approximation, not a weather forecast or official warning.

What is this tool?

Dew point is the temperature air would need to cool to for it to become saturated — a better humidity-comfort indicator than relative humidity alone, since RH% means something different at different temperatures. This tool uses the Magnus-Tetens approximation with the Alduchov & Eskridge (1996) refined constants, and shows a commonly used informal comfort band (not an official NWS standard). Optionally enter a surface temperature to get a qualitative condensation-risk note.

How to use it

  1. Enter temperature and relative humidity.
  2. Read the dew point and comfort band.
  3. Optionally enter a surface temperature for a condensation-risk note.
