  • Restaurants

    15–20% of the pre-tax bill is the norm; 20%+ for good service.

  • Cafes & bars

    $1–2 per drink at bars; counter-service tipping is optional but common.

  • Taxis & rideshare

    10–15%, or round up on short rides (same for rideshare apps).

  • Hotels

    $1–5 per bag for porters; $2–5 per night for housekeeping.
